Elizabeth is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and holds a doctorate in Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. She teaches clinical social work research and practice at Columbia University and Smith College. Her ongoing research focuses on integrating body-mind practices with evidenced-based clinical interventions.
In her clinical work Elizabeth integrates her passion for body based trauma resolution with her extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Grounded in a relational approach, this combination of nervous system regulation, deep listening and the process of insight becomes the foundation for healing. As a Certified Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Elizabeth is also an approved session provider at both beginning and intermediate levels.
